Browser Warfare: Shiretoko To Wrestle IE, Chrome

The next version of Firefox is on its way; you can download and test the alpha release of Shiretoko.

Mozilla, the creator of Firefox, has released the second alpha of Firefox's new version -- code named Shiretoko. The new browser is available for Linux, Mac and Windows. Looks wise, there is a big facelift in the new browser. Although it looks close to IE 7 or 8, but it is not as innovative as Chrome. Shiretoko is built on the pre-release version of the Gecko 1.9.1 platform, which forms the core of rich Internet applications such as Firefox. To download Shiretoko, click here.

But, keep in mind, this is a bleeding edge release intended for developers and testers only. Current users of Mozilla Firefox should not use Shiretoko Alpha 2.
